I’ve been on a long journey to get back into information technology after nearly 10 years out of it to raise my children. It’s NOT an easy road. Time after time I hear my experience is not relevant anymore. Knowing this would be the case, I recently became certified in both Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud computing platforms, and made a lot of progress into getting Red Hat Linux certified, but the road to an IT job is still not complete.
In my studies I keep seeing / noticing how coding is integral to almost ANY job in IT, so I knew I need to take the lemons that COVID is dealing us, and get on learning as much as possible during this time in order to make some lemonade.
Thank goodness I have some coding experience, but what I lack is a really good and solid understanding of just ONE programming language to make me marketable in that language. I chose Swift because I have some ideas for apps I’d like to develop that I think will help a lot of people.
Now I’m hoping that with my prior experience in system administration, and web project management ( HTML, CSS, JS), that I’ll be able to get a junior Swift developer position someday.
As an IT Manager I helped users get their data on the following OS’s in our medium-sized LAN environment: #windows #windowsNT #windows2000 #windowsXP #windows10 #windowscertified #macOS7-9 #macOSX #macOS #unix #solaris #bsd-unix #linux #redhat #centOS #kalilinux #mandrake
