What is the best editor to download/use to write code in? I’ve noticed some colour different words and others put in closing tags automatically.

There’s many editors & IDE’s you could use most of them you can download a plugin or install the feature to auto close tags.
I personally use Sublime Text.Others are Notepad++, Atom, brackets

Or you can use online editors such as repl.it or codepen there are also challenges avaliable that you can win prizes, repl.it’s challenge begins on March 18th (game jam)
