Word Up - "word is set to" seems to be glitching

PygLatin Word Up

The code seems to work correctly yet I get an error. The error says "Oops, try again. It looks like word is set to "LKJ" instead of "horsing"."

I don't even know where "LKJ" came from; it's not in my code anywhere. It seems like an old input into the console is messing with something? Very confused. Thanks for any help!

Replace this line with your code.
pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')

if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
    original = original.lower()
    first = word[0]
    print original
    print 'empty'

HI look well at the instruction ...this line

original = original.lower()

insead of

original = ..

you should write

word = original.lower()

Hi Wizmarco. Thank you! I actually have resolved this problem now, thank you for your response.
