when im using release_year variable why am i not putting paranthesis around the year
Because you want to define release year
Why isn’t the year placed inside of quotation marks? In the previous variable lesson, the text that defined the variable were placed inside of quotation marks. Is there a different rule when it a number defines a variable?
It should be covered soon, if it hasn’t come up already… Data types. Quote marks are the delimiters of
str type objects. When we wish to assign a number or boolean primitive we would not use quotes.
'True' is a string,
True is a boolean primitive.
Bottom line, only use quotes when designating text data in literal assignments. Once all the data types are familiar this won’t be an issue.
Got it! Thanks for the speedy response:)
