Why does node_c have two links?

In this exercise, the element node_c shows two links? How is that used versus Node items with a single link?

A Node is used as a basic building block of other data structures. A Node with a single link is useful for data structures such as linked lists, stacks, and queues. Other types of data structures such as trees or graphs require more links. That is an example of the role that node_c is showing in the exercise. The element node_c is able to point to both Node items node_d and node_e.
