Why does Codecademy throw in information without expansion?

Hi, I have a question.
I have been going through the Codecademy Web Development Path, and currently, I am in the HTML section, and I noticed that occasionally Codecademy refers to topics that have not been explained before, such as CSS selectors (the class selector for example) and makes it part of the problem set we have to do. I was just curious as to why this is done, I’m not trying to start anything, just curious.

I think they do this to give you a taste of what’s to come, and to get you thinking about things from a slightly different perspective.

I think it’s a trade-off between picking up things in stride (learn from doing) versus setting foundational markers. I always found the CC modules most effective when pairing it with study of some reference material.
