Why do we use cat command here (bash terminal)?

Good day) We use cat command to display the contents of the file. Why did we use cat commant while redirecting contents of one file to another? f

If you wish to copy a file you could use cp for that.
If you specifically want to redirect output to a file, then you would need some output to redirect, but that would be a contrived situation where you are solving a problem that has to be created before being able to apply the solution.
