Why can I not proceed?

#1

In style.css, in the banner section of the stylesheets, set the font weight of the paragraph within class banner to bold.

Font weight set to bold and appears so in the browser. Why can I not proceed?

#2

Please post a link to the exercise, what code sample you have now, and any error messages. Thanks.

Style/CSS - 3/19 Typography - Font Weight

.banner {
background-color: #4D00FF;
padding: 100px 0;
margin-top: 77px;
text-align: center;

}

.banner p {
border-top: 1px solid #FFF;
border-bottom: 1px solid #FFF;
padding: 10px;
color: #FFFFFF;
font-weight: bold;
}

Did you add ‘font-weight: bold’ to the selector that targets the paragraph in the banner?
Run

We cannot run your code except in our own lesson interface, which is why a link to the exercise is so important. It’s the only way we can place ourselves on the same (approximate) page. At least then we have the same instructions and SCT that you have. Please post the link. Thanks.

.banner p {
  font-family: Glegoo;
  font-size: 20px;
  border-top: 1px solid #fff;
  border-bottom: 1px solid #fff;
  padding: 10px;
  color: #ffffff;
  font-weight: bold;
  line-height: 1.4;
}

My above css may contain properties added in later steps, but yours seems to jive with what it there. What happens if you refresh the page?

#9

Roy,
Thanks for your advice.
I replaced the contents of element " .banner p " with your amended entry and, regretfully, it did not work.
Any further ideas?
Regards,
David.

#10

Did you remove the bits that may have been added in later lessons; namely, font and line-height?

#11

Yes, it won’t budge.

#12

Running out of things to suggest… Have you explored using another browser?

#13

For this course, I have been using Google Chrome. Tried Internet Explorer with the same result. This particular lesson is not that all-important. Would it be possible to slip around it to the next segment?

.banner p {
border-top: 1px solid #fff;
border-bottom: 1px solid #fff;
padding: 10px;
color: #ffffff;
font-weight: bold;
}

#14

Keep submitting your lesson until the Get Code dialog jumps in. Then Get Code and it will skirt around the SCT and let you move on.

#15

Done!

Thank you Roy.
D.
