Which python courses help with APIs

Searching on google, this use to be an active link http://www.codecademy.com/tracks/apis. I was wondering which python course I should start with if I want to learn about working with APIs?

Welcome to the forums.

Do you know Python?
What is it exactly that you want to do with APIs?

I’m learning Python through the site. I would like to know how to take data from APIs and put them in a dataframe. Example would be getting data from this link and putting it into a dataframe.

https://wax.api.atomicassets.io/atomicmarket/v1/prices/sales?collection_name=mlb.topps&template_id=101594

But I don’t know what I don’t know, was hoping there would be a course/lesson that would walk me through from the start.

Ah, ok. Gotcha.

Are you on the data analyst track or data science by any chance? Have you learned Pandas yet? Or, maybe how to read & write a file using CSV ie: https://docs.python.org/3/library/csv.html

From there you can either use python functions or data science python libraries to do EDA (exploratory data analysis) and to create data visualizations for further analysis. But, having a solid understanding of Python (lists, dictionaries, writing functions, etc) is key.

Some applicable skill paths:

  • Analyze Data w/Python
  • Learn Web Scraping with Beautiful Soup
  • Learn Data Analysis w/Pandas
  • Analyze Financial Data w/Python

And longer, more intensive courses, the DA and DS career paths.

I took the Data Anylast course about 1.5 to 2 years ago. I recently started the data scientists course.

I will take a look a look at the data analyst syllabus to see what I can revist on. I know i need to brush up on dictionaries though.

Thanks!

There is some overlap with content across the courses and paths. If the lessons are completed in one course that’s reflected in other courses as well. Example: lists, dictionaries.
