Without knowing your background, I would say that in general, Security+ is highly valued in the cybersecurity world, especially in government and contracting. It’s well known and is needed as a mandatory item for many companies. They will take any IAT level 2 certification, but Security+ is well-known. I actually started with A+ and Network+ which helped with knowledge, but they never really helped me get a job.
If you don’t know what I mean for IAT level 2 certification, check out the DoD 8570 Baseline chart. It takes some time to get to know the chart. This is government we’re talking about now. Department of Defense. But many private companies line up to this as well. Hope that helps!
