I can’t find a valid invite to the Discord, did they close it? or What happened. Every invite i click on, even on this website’s “chat” option which is supposed to send you to the discord, sends me to an invalid invitation window.

I’m one of the admins on the Discord server. As part of the move of Codecademy’s community spaces to the new Circle platform, the three old communities have been/are being shut down or made unofficial. (See NEW Platform Alert: The Future of Forums - #2 by mariana_b)
The forums are being closed completely, and the FB group/Discord server have been made unofficial and adminship of them has been transferred to the volunteers who ran the server under Codecademy’s guidance. We were given free reign to continue running the Discord server as we please, just without official community status/Codecademy directing users towards us.
We decided not to run the server as an unofficial Codecademy fan space, and to give us more flexibility we decided to remove Codecademy’s branding entirely. The server still exists, but it’s no longer Codecademy affiliated or branded, hence why the invite link doesn’t work. I presume I shouldn’t post the link here, but I’m happy to share it with anyone reaching out privately.

I will also add that you can still ask questions with regards to CC content & courses & make connections with other learners on this Discord server. Unlike the previous server, you can ask any sorts of coding questions (minus school work or exams) from any other platform(s) that one is learning from as well.

Yeah functionally nothing real has changed, it’s only really the lack of Codecademy brand assets and a slightly different internal staff structure that’s of substance.

Right… I think I found it. Is it the one called “Code Cafe” ? Anyways, thanks guys, hope the community spaces become as cool and active as the discord was.

Hi,
Do you know if Codecademy is going to update the courses and pathways because a lot of links for discussing a topic/question/project still takes you to a forum thread.
I noticed today that the main navigation to the forum has been removed, so I “Google searched” my way back here to find answers to what’s happening. I don’t recall any kind of obvious announcement about it!

I presume they’d be intending to, but have no idea if they’ve actually got the spare curriculum developer time to go back and edit it all, I suspect we’ll be seeing some links sticking around for quite sometime!
