HI all,
I am Prajith Padamanabhan! Am interested in technologies, that’s the only reason am here!
Who are you? Tonya
What is your industry and profession? Oil and gas - systems and database administrator
Were do you plan to use your new coding skills? Personally/professionally? Both really I guess. I would like to have a computer downstairs gathering data from the web but I’m don’t have the first clue about that. My first goal is to be able to use it in my office. We gather data that we manipulate and later sell. It would be nice to gather it automatically rather than having to search for it.
Why do you use Codecademy and what is your favorite thing about it? A friend at work showed me this site. The things he could do after just a little while were awesome!
What courses have you taken, or are planning to take? Python to start and see where that leads me.
Have you been to any of our meetups, or events? No
Do you have any examples of work that you have done using the skills you learned at Codecademy? No
Do you have a cool story to tell about how Codecademy helped you achieve your goals? Not yet but I’m sure there is something in the works - I just haven’t found it yet.
Hello,
My name is Erasto. Am here to learn coding skills. Am working in accounting and auditing.
Hey everyone,
i’m new here. i can say that i’m learning coding as a way to know things that can later help me. i’m even studying something i could say it would help greatly.
My first name is Jacob, although people often tend to refer to me as iiPost, PostMaster, Post, or iiPostMaster. I’d very much prefer to either be referred to as Jacob, Post, or iiPostMaster. “ii” is the prefix to my name, and “Master” is technically a suffix in my eyes, but most still see it as part of my name. The reason my name is Post Master is because, in 2005 or 2006, the very first username I ever came up with was Post1234, because I was learning to count and do math in school, and the word Post was the first thing that came to mind at the time; and I got Master from my old username used from 2012 to 2014, “M4ST3RxxSL4Y3R”, which translates to “Master Slayer”. I got into some first person shooter games in early 2012 and stopped playing them almost entirely in 2014, but I wanted to revive the theme in early 2017 when I first started my YouTube channel.
I currently have not industry nor profession, but I intend upon working in a local frito-Lay factory for some time to earn a bit of money before becoming my own employer.
I plan on using my skills more personally than anything for the time being, using my knowledge to eventually code Discord bots, but I plan on eventually hosting a service using a Discord bot so that I may earn money from donations, and possibly premium features.
I use Codecademy because a lot of popular places I visit recommend it as the best way to learn code, if not second or maybe third best on their lists. Just the fact that it’s in more than 20 known top-3s is good enough for me, so I decided to make an account and join it.
I’ve started to take a course on JavaScript, and I plan on taking one in HTML in the future, as well as possibly C# or C++. If Codecademy also has a course for the programming language Android uses, then I’m definitely taking that one as well.
I haven’t been to any of Codecademy’s meetups or events, but I plan on making it possible to attend one some time in the future.
I haven’t made any examples for work I’ve done with experience from here since I only just started earlier today, but I’d really love to make some examples in the future!
Hey, I’m a girl just learning coding. I’m taking the free courses at the moment. Plan to teach myself as much/many coding languages as possible for as free as possible and then start developing part time. Eventually, I hope to develop full time from home and make a very nice living wage, move to a better place and raise my family in a better environment with more opportunity.
I really like this website so far.
Me.

Hi everyone, my name’s Shane. I am originally from Florida (USA) but have lived in the US Virgin Islands, Vermont, Maine, and now D.C. I am a political organizer who got his start on the Bernie 2016 campaign in 2015. Currently, I am working at a nonpartisan nonprofit called FairVote, which has led the charge to improve our democracy and make it more accountable to and representative of the people over the last 25 years. We are focused now on spreading ranked choice voting around the country. I am almost entirely new to coding but am interested in learning to increase my organizing and communication capabilities, both for work and personal projects.
Hi everyone, my name is David!
I live in San Francisco where I was born and raised. I am a user of codeacademy hoping to learn programming enough so that I can contribute to projects and companies that require such technologies. Coding is a new challenge for me that I truly believe in because of how interlaced computer applications and programs are in people’s everyday lives. Being a part of building those things or at least learning about how they work is an opportunity that I am excited to chase.

Building websites for companies and personalities and for myself and building mobile phone applications, building programs for traders on wall street, working on smart technology.
Why do you use Codecademy and what is your favorite thing about it?
It is simple to use, it is free and I don’t have any money. I am very poor and I need a way out of this lifestyle. I hate living in a bachelor apartment and in a bad area. I want to live in a condominium downtown in Edmonton or Los Angeles or Vancouver or California; Silocon Valley.

Hello friends!
I am Hiba and I am 17 years old from Lebanon. I am new to codecademy and I am looking forward to learn here. I would like to study Computer Science. I completed HTML and I make a progress in CSS till now. I want to learn even more since I have a passion for computers and programming.
Thanks for codecademy!
Who are you?
What is your industry and profession?
Hola!
I am a 27 year old Project Administrator at a large construction company. I have had experience as a construction technician working on renovation projects for large hospitals since I was 16 years old. I have always loved computers, underlying code, and the web in general. In college I majored in Psychology but always wanted to go into CS, it was just an issue of not having a super strong math background in high school. To me, knowledge of Computer Science always came off as a really incredible tool in a world changing more and more to digital processes.
I am taking several maths/a few programming courses in the Spring along with daily Codecademy grind. My plan is to serve as office IT admin for another few years while I pursue a Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree–if I do not get an entry level job as a Developer first. Ultimately I feel I am starting out late in life learning about things i’ve always been interested in, so I’m excited to kick it into high gear to get to where I want to be. I am passionate about new information and emerging technologies and working on challenging problems, so I have no doubt that I possess the passion for a new career.
Were do you plan to use your new coding skills? Personally/professionally?
Presently, I am trying to get a really solid handle on HTML/CSS/JS to start and I plan to use these skills to rebuild my company’s web page from the ground up. This will help me start to create “tracks” of work that I can refer back to. I work as sort of the de facto “IT guy” for our company, though I really don’t have any professional skills or experience–just basic problem solving and knowledge of technical terminology as I am by far the youngest in our office.
Why do you use Codecademy and what is your favorite thing about it?
I really like Codecademy because it is bare bones but in a detailed enough way that I can circle back around and find information from questions I may need help on (IE, the FORUMS!). Videos are nice but sometimes you really just need a simple text layout. I love the fact that I can get three different screens of instruction as sort of a step by step process–directions, text editor, and browser to see my work. Great setup here!
What courses have you taken, or are planning to take?
I have taken introductory HTML and CSS. I have also dipped my toes in some JS but as it is much more challenging to learn than the first two, I really feel like I need some in depth knowledge, practice and projects over a good portion of time to get me where I want to be. It will come!
Have you been to any of our meetups, or events?
No, but only because I want to get to a better level of proficiency in basic web technologies first. I love the idea of meetups and plan to attend many in the future. I can’t wait until I am skilled enough to participate in a hackathon! It’s something I am passionate about, so I know I just need to be patient and grind through the learning years first.
Do you have any examples of work that you have done using the skills you learned at Codecademy?
Not yet, but as I’ve said, I plan to!
Do you have a cool story to tell about how Codecademy helped you achieve your goals? Tell it here.6
Ask me in a few years! Happy coding!
Hey everyone!
My name is Bob Dempsey.
I’m a 1st year web developer/webmaster. I spent most of my time in WordPress before school, but now I’m neck deep in Angular, Firebase, PHP, jQuery, and much more.
I plan to use my skills for my personal projects, outside of work.
I originally used Code Academy for a basic JS course a few years ago. It was really great. My favorite feature was the console directly in the window etc. I’m not sure what else I’ll take in the future.
I have not been to any meetups, but that needs to happen fairly soon as I have a project that I’m stuck on. I also do not have any examples available.
Thanks!

Working as a legal consultant and Business development, I trying to learn coding to improve my skills, and also I love ️ learning and self development .
My name's Denali, I'm 22 and living at home. I have a terminal illness known as Cystic Fibrosis, however it's relatively manageable. I'm looking to get into web development as I believe it fits my lifestyle and I am adept at what I put my mind to. I've been toying around with computers for over 15 years and I want something to finally come of it so that I can help support my fiancee.
Hello There!
I am Caroline and attempting to skill up to remain more than just relevant but competitive at my evolving position in a fast-growing insurance brokerage. Currently serving as an applications administrator, I once was (long ago in a land far away) a database administrator. I let my skills slide and now all is new. We are currently working on building API links into a single reporting system. So I’m signing up for SQL and several other courses in this site.
HI coding world,
am abdalla from Nairobi , Kenya . Am new to the coding world and am really upset but very happy to be here and hope you will support me. Iam passionate about programming and coding and one day wish to be a well known coder or engineer in the world of computer. thanks all and wish you all the best.
My name is Dinorita and I am a confused yet ambitious 27 year old Latina from the Boogie down Bronx. I’ve spent the last few years in customer service and telecommunication sales after college. I’ve always wanted to learn how to code though I never knew that was what it was. I spent years as a kid/teenager on a little-known site called Neopets where I taught myself HTML by looking at other people’s code, and I remember trying to learn CSS. But then my account was hacked and so I quit and that was the last time I coded. It wasn’t until recently that I remembered that I actually enjoyed coding back then so I’ve decided to relearn. I want a career in technology; I’m not sure in what capacity but tech is fascinating to me and the potential is obviously endless; I want to be a part of it. I also want to develop my own personal website/blog. I use Codeacademy because it was highly recommended. I only just finished my first lesson which was more of a refresher to me than a lesson but I look forward to the more advanced lessons. I love how user-friendly this site is proving to be.
I am seriously contemplating also going back to school to get a degree in computer science and I have maybe a week to decide. It would take me about 2 years full-time to earn a bachelor’s degree for CS. I definitely need advice regarding this decision. I’ve read that there is no need for a CS degree if you’re self-taught.
