Hello! My name is Dawn, and I am not your average tech type. I’m a stay-at-home mom looking to leverage my undergraduate degree in psychology and a graduate degree in accounting with a tech career. Before my kids, my career spanned marketing, HR, and higher education administration. Since my kids, I have taken on a few freelance roles and volunteered in accounting. I’m ready to return to work in an exciting and evolving field, and tech is where it’s at. Way back in the day, I took BASIC programming in high school and taught myself HTML in college.
I am leaning toward cybersecurity or data analysis. I look forward to connecting with others on the forums and learning as much as possible with Codecademy.

I’m currently working as an Inside Sales Rep at a refurbished capital equipment company. I’ve been in this role for over 2 years and it’s definitely time for a change. Alongside sales, you can find me working with my upholstery partner in gyms all over VA, as well as walking dogs!
Coding has been on the brain for a while but it felt very daunting to dive in. My hopes are that my upholstery partner and I can build course-catalog website specifically for upholstery! I’m also hoping that this big project will lead to a full-time role as a Front-End Dev!

My name is Alicia, and I am 43 years old. I live in the United States, and I am an adjunct English instructor, online tutor, and online librarian.
I am learning coding (right now I am redoing the HTML lesson here on Codecademy, and I have done the CSS and Javascript lessons), and I plan to use my new coding skills in a new career as a front-end web developer. I also plan to use them to help people build websites in my local area, starting with a craft co-op that doesn’t have a website and needs one.
I enjoy learning new things too, and I really love coding. I always find something new and exciting in it every day I do a coding lesson.

Hello all! I am 25 years old, working in retail as an overnight manager. I’ve been interested in programming for years, as it is what my brother has done for work for the last 10-15 years. I’ve tried a few times to learn but never seem to catch a break as work usually takes up too much of my time. HOWEVER, I’m here to try again, and I am going to try and stay motivated. I’m going to start by learning the basics of JavaScript and then go from there. I’m looking forward to meeting some people and starting this journey.

I was inspired to learn to code because I wanted a website to sell my handmade jewelry-- and Etsy just wasn’t cutting it. Through Codecademy, I’m realizing that I love to work with computers almost as much as I love working with my hands! I want to become a front-end developer so that I can get myself to a better place financially and geographically.
I’m focusing on HTML and CSS first. After that, I plan on studying JavaScript. I’m looking forward to learning with you all!

Call me Astro. I’m 35-years-old, and I’d love to do web design as a career. I’ve been interested in web and graphic design since I was a teenager, where I used to Frankenstein websites together to make them work. It’s been a long time coming, but I think this is the ideal career for me for many reasons (some of which I’m not comfortable sharing yet). I’m currently disabled, but I’m hoping that within a year or two, I might be in a better position to support myself.

Hello everyone,
I have a small e-commerce business, and I’ve realized the need to better understand web programming to improve my website. That’s why I’m going to start by studying the front-end course and, in the future, the back-end course as well. I have the ambition to create a web application that connects with other websites’ APIs.
I already have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS, but I’ll start from scratch because it seems like a lot has changed, and it’s always good to review, right?

My career has mostly been IT support/management - ended up jill-of-all-trades. I have a 20 year old degree in software development and I’m planning a career change to Data Analytics.
I’ve been using codecademy for a few months now and I’m really enjoying the courses and career paths.
