Using puts to call code

#1

Hello all,

I want to ask about good coding practice. In exercise 7, I see that if if simply call the code:

"codecademy".length

It will return 10 (as expected). This is so even though I did not include the puts or print command, i.e.:

puts "codecademy".length

I have just started learning Ruby, and want to make sure I don't pick up habits that would be difficult to change later on. In "real life" Ruby coding software, can you call the aforementioned code without a puts/print command as allowed by the codecademy interpreter?

Thank you!

Lesson 7

Replace this line with your code.
