Using an element from a list in a function: Strange Error

#1

I've tried these lines in IDLE and they seem to work fine, as far as the instructions go. However, the IDE keeps throwing this error:

def list_function(x):
    return x[0]

n = [3, 5, 7]
print list_function(n)

"Oops, try again. list_function([4, 9, 7]) returned 4 instead of 9"

Trys it again, w/o changing anything:

"Oops, try again. list_function([6, 3]) returned 6 instead of 3"

Trys again:

"Oops, try again. list_function([9, 2, 0, 3]) returned 9 instead of 2"

Trys again:

"Oops, try again. list_function([6, 7, 9, 6, 5, 3]) returned 6 instead of 7"

Am I crazy?

#2

you should return the second item (at index 1)(see instructions), your function returns the first item (at index 0)
