User choice not defined

#1

var compare = function(choice1, choice2){
if(choice1 === choice2){
    return "The result is a tie!"
    }

    else if(choice1==="rock"){
        if (choice2==="scissors"){
            return "rock wins"
        }
            else {
                return "paper wins"

            }
        }

    else if(choice1 === "paper"){
        if(choice2 === "rock"){
            return "paper wins"
            }
            else {
                return "scissors wins"
                }

                }
        }

};

compare (userChoice, computerChoice);

#2

Is this the full code? Because you didn't prompt the user to choose one...

A prompt is like
userChoice=
prompt= ("Whatever you want here");

#3

This is the full code --

var userChoice = prompt("Do you choose rock, paper or scissors?");
var computerChoice = Math.random();
if (computerChoice < 0.34) {
computerChoice = "rock";
} else if(computerChoice <= 0.67) {
computerChoice = "paper";
} else {
computerChoice = "scissors";
} console.log("Computer: " + computerChoice);
var compare = function(choice1, choice2){
if(choice1 === choice2){
return "The result is a tie!"
}

else if(choice1==="rock"){
    if (choice2==="scissors"){
        return "rock wins"
    }
        else {
            return "paper wins"

        }
    }

else if(choice1 === "paper"){
    if(choice2 === "rock"){
        return "paper wins"
        }
        else {
            return "scissors wins"
            }
    }

else if(choice1 === "scissors"){
if(choice2 === "paper"){
return "scissorswins"
}
else {
return "rock wins"
}
}

};

compare (Choice1 , Choice2);

#4

Right, I checked your code here —> labs repl.it

Your code worked alright, but my error is Choice 1 is not defined. Check that first?

#5

I figured it out - it should be compare(userChoice, computerChoice). Thanks

#6

Yup, sorry bout that. Good luck!
