Unxpected Token Else and Syntax Error in Rock ,Paper, Scissors game

All I am getting is Unexpected token else and Syntax error

var compare = function(choice1, choice2) {
    if (choice1 === choice2) {
        return "The result is a tie!";
    }
    
    else if(choice1 === "rock") {
        
        if(choice2 === "scissors") {
            return "rock wins";
        }
        else {
            return "paper wins";
        }
    };

Semicolons in javascript are like periods in english grammar. They usually mean the end of something. Try removing them :slight_smile:
