Well your qualifications greatly impact your hireability.
While this is a great site to get your feet wet, if your only line on your CV is “Learned HTML5 from Codecademy” and you have nothing to backup that you have great web design skills, then basically you have no real qualifications.
If you do like web design, though, IIRC I recently read somewhere (I believe CNET) that Amazon was bringing one of their Website server hubs to the East Coast and that’ll mean a surplus of Web design jobs. If I remember correctly, though, it’s going to be just a bit away from Atlanta.
