SyntaxError: Unexpected token else

You need to understand that your else if only contains if/else inside it,so you need to enclose them.

In your first else if ,you included if/else and also included second else if ,there you're making mistake.

Your first else if should be like this.

else if (choice1 === "rock") 
    {
        if(choice2 === "scissors") 
        {
            return "rock wins";
        }
        
        else
        {
            return "paper wins";
        }
    }

You also need to delete the extra curly bracket after second else if after you fix first else if.
