I can't get past this problem, please see the border rule I wrote and the error message I'm getting. What should I do to resolve this and move on?

#2

I've been wrong a few times today but here's my suggestion: your code looks fine, so copy it, refresh chrome, then paste it I again, this might work.

#3

Do a browser clean, do what @jibblyj says, or change #4682B4 to #4682b4.

I'm certainly no expert at this, and I'm sure I'm wrong, but the code as it's written seems right to me. If it's still holding you up, tho, you can always rewrite the border-specific code:

Instead of:
border: 1px solid #4682B4

Put:
border-width: 1px;
border-style: solid;
border-color: #4682b4;

Not sure why that would work and not what you have, but it should get you past, I think.

EDIT 11/6: forgot to add the ";" at the end of each border property.

@smondaca Because of the Codecademy interpreter: don't wants a B, but a b in the hex border color number.

#6

@arccoder77254 Oh, so it really is the capitalization? But in real-world applicability, it's not required, is it? Wonder why it would identify the border color and not the h1 or p colors above it..lol..

#7

@smondaca Yeah, you can write B or b in real-world applicability. But if the interpreter says one of those two, you must stick with it, no matter you like it or not.

Thanks for all your responses, but after trying all of your suggestions, it's still not working. Ugh, I want to move on with this course :confused: Unfortunately this has been a huge time waster. Wish there was a way to "skip" past things.

Here is my index.html:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
	<head>
	    <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/>
		<title>Result</title>
	</head>
	<body>
	    <h1>asd</h1>
	    <p>a></p>
	    <img src=""/>
	</body>
</html>

And here is my stylesheet.css:

h1 {
    font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;
    color: #576D94;
}
p {
    font-family: Garamond, serif;
    font-size: 18px;
    color: #4A4943;
}
img {
    height: 100px;
    width: 300px;
    border: 1px solid #4682b4;
}

I do not have any problems, so maybe the error is in your HTML file (because I don't see what code do you have there), or maybe you should try again options in reply #3.

I edited my reply above..I forgot to include the semicolons after each line..so if you cut and pasted my suggestion, it would have failed..
