need help with code
this error keeps poping up
I don't know what to do.

lloyd = {
    "name": "Lloyd",
    "homework": [90.0, 97.0, 75.0, 92.0],
    "quizzes": [88.0, 40.0, 94.0],
    "tests": [75.0, 90.0]
}
alice = {
    "name": "Alice",
    "homework": [100.0, 92.0, 98.0, 100.0],
    "quizzes": [82.0, 83.0, 91.0],
    "tests": [89.0, 97.0]
}
tyler = {
    "name": "Tyler",
    "homework": [0.0, 87.0, 75.0, 22.0],
    "quizzes": [0.0, 75.0, 78.0],
    "tests": [100.0, 100.0]
}

# Add your function below!

def average(numbers):
    sum(numbers)
    total = sum(numbers)
    total = float(total)
    total = total / len(numbers)
    return total
def get_average(student):
    homework = average(student["homework"])
    quizzes = average(student["quizzes"])
    tests = average(student["tests"])
    return (0.1*homework) + (0.3*quizzes) + (0.6*tests)

def get_letter_grade(score):
    if score >= 90:
        return "A"
    elif score >=80:
        return "B"
    elif score >= 70:
        return "C"
    elif score >= 60:
        return "D"
    else:
        return "F"

    print get_letter_grade(get_average(lloyd))
    def get_class_average(students):
        results = []
        for student in students:
            results.append(get_average(student))
        return average(results)
    print get_class_average(students)

#2

this code:

    print get_letter_grade(get_average(lloyd))
    def get_class_average(students):
        results = []
        for student in students:
            results.append(get_average(student))
        return average(results)
    print get_class_average(students)

the indention is off. The function call should be outside the function and the get_class_average function should be after (outside) the get_letter_grade function

#3

sorry I don't understand what you mean.
this error keeps coming up

#4

look:

def example_one():
   def example_two():
      print True

look , i nested example_two inside example_one. which is what you did (you nested get_class_average in get_letter_sccore), but the function should be after each other:

def example_one():
   print True
def example_two():
   print True

also, make sure the function calls have no indent so they are outside the function

#5

I think I fixed that problem but another one came up.

def get_class_average(students):
    results = []
    for student in students:
        results.append(get_average(students))
    return average(results)
    print get_class_average(students)

now its saying this:
get_class_average([alice]) resulted in an error: list indices must be integers, not str

#6

the function call:

print get_class_average(students)

should be outside the function (hint, indention, or rather, no indention)

here:

get_average(students)

get_average is designed to calculate the average grade for one student. which is why you loop over students, the individual students are then stored in student
