Stuck on 2. Laying out your divs

#1

Hi I am stuck on Laying out your divs and I cant find what i'm doing wrong.

Here is the HTML.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
	<head>
		<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/>
		<title></title>
	</head>
	<body>
	<div id="header">
	<div id="left">
	<div id="right">
	<div id="footer">
	</body>
</html>

And the CSS.

#header {
border-radius: 5px;
color: #0088cc;
position: fixed;
}

#left {
border-radius: 5px;
color: #33bbff;
position: fixed;
}

#right {
border-radius: 5px;
color: #33bbff;
position: fixed;
}

#footer {
border-radius: 5px;
color: #0088cc;
position: fixed;
}

few problems, after a div opening tag:

<div id="header">

there should be a div closing tag:

<div id="header"></div>

and your div with id left and right, this shouldn't be ids, this should be classes, remember classes? And when selecting a class in css, it starts with a dot (.)

#3

Ah, ok thanks. I will try it out.

#4

for your divs on the left and right, they are not id's they are classes:

#5

what do you mean by dots

#6

that if you want to target a html class:

<div class="nameofclass">

the name of the selector should start with a full stop (.):

.nameofclass { /* some css code */ }
