Stuck on 11 printing variables Please help!

#1

This is my code

the_machine_goes = "Ping!"
print "the_machine_goes"

And this is the error message
Oops, try again. Did you remember to print out "Ping!"?

#2

It should be:

print (the_machine_goes)

Double quotes are used to indicate a string but you're printing a variable name so they're not needed. Use parenthesis instead to indicate a variable.

#3

Thank you :smile: :smile: :smiley: :smile:

#4

Hi Im also facing the same issue . I put print (the_machine_goes) but still having the same error message :

the_machine_goes = "ping!"
print (the_machine_goes)

Oops, try again.
Did you set the_machine_goes equal to the string "Ping!"?

#5

Capitalise the P in ping

#6

:smiley: :smiley: :smiley: Thank You ...................................................

#7

I seem to be having a similar issue below... Can you let me know how to correct?

#8

print should not be in caps

#9

it's "print", not "Print"

#10

When printing you do not need the parentheses. It is a bit more elegant as :

print = the_machine_goes
