Strings--console-output/exercises/string-formatting-with--part--1

Why have we used backslash and double quotes after your quest is %s,?

print “Ah, so your name is %s, your quest is %s,”
“and your favorite color is %s.” % (name, quest, color)

this allows you to put the string on multiple lines. You don’t have to use this so far I know.

I tried to remove it and then run the code on Codeacademy’s console. It showed error.

how did you do this? Can i see?
