Something wrong?

#1

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')

if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
word = original.lower()
first = original[0]
new_word = word[1:] + first + pyg
print new_word
else:
print 'empty'
I think it should work, but for some reason gear is spinning and nothing is happening.

Its working now,

#2

I've run your code and it works fine, the gear doesn't keep spinning. Perhaps you just need to reload the page?

#3

Still doesnt work, realy weird.

#4

I have the same problem! I've restarted my computer and everything, and that little gear just goes around and around.

#5

The variations must be after original and before the if sentence.

#6

This is my code:

 print 'Welcome to the Pig Latin Translator!'
    ask = raw_input("Enter a word:")
    original = raw_input()
    if len(ask) > 0:
        print original
    else:
    print "empty"

It still isn't working. I got the wheel of death.

#7

In wich step are you?

#8

I'm on check yourself.

#9

judiak, get rid of the line:

original = raw_input()

and instead of:

print original

type:

print ask

also you have indentation problems on lines 2, 4, 5 and 6

this should get it working :slightly_smiling:
