[solved] ending up

pyg = 'ay'
original = raw_input('Enter a word:')
word = original.lower()
if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
        if word[0] == "a" and "e" and "i" and "o" and "u":
            new_word = word + pyg
            print new_word
            new_word = word[1:] + word[0] + pyg
            print new_word
    print 'empty'

This is my code. Can someone tell me were i went wrong?
its comes up saying: "Oops, try again. first should contain the first letter of word."

Ending up Pyg Latin

i don't see the variable first anywhere? It should be present and contain the first letter of word

Thank You! Can't believe I was so blind not to realise something so simple.
