Since 11/13 I lost Run function

#1

Hi, seem fine with the code side of it but since adding the divider tag the option at bottom of page to Run and test the code has disappeared, have gone back and forward again and used help on right to reset page to no avail. Also refreshed the page, any ideas please? I have reported as a bug but impatient as I'm enjoying doing it.

@objectninja37185,
Could you provide the FULL HTML & CSS code you are using.....

Hi, I have actually reset the page so it is the default:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <title>Ollie Bike Sharing</title>
  <meta charset="utf-8"/>
  <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="main.css">
</head>
<body>
  <h2>Ollie</h2>
  <ul>
    <li>sign up</li>
    <li>search bikes</li>
    <li>reserve a bike</li>
    <li>about us</li>
	</ul>
  <h1>Ollie Bike Sharing</h1>
  <h3>Share Your Pedals with the World.</h3>
  <p>Need a set of wheels while you're in town? Use Ollie to pair your perfect vacation with a stylish, affordable bike rental. Here is a <a href="cities.html">list</a> of cities where you can find us.</p>
  <video width="320" height="240" controls>
    <source src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/projects/make-a-website/lesson-1/ollie.mp4" type="video/mp4">
  </video>
</body>
</html>

I haven't touched css (as far as I know)

html, body {
  font-family: sans-serif;
  margin: 0;
  width: 100%;
  height: 100%;
}

h1 {
  font-size: 48px;
}

p {
  max-width: 65%;
  min-width: 500px;
}

h2 {
  text-align: center;
  font-size: 2.6rem;
}

div {
  padding-right: 30px;
  height: 100%;
  width: 100%;
}

video {
  background-color: #000000;
  border: 2px solid black;
}

.container {
  display: flex;
}

.main {
  padding-left: 30px;
  min-width: 75%;
}

.nav {
  background-color: #FFEE00;
  max-width: 25%;
  min-width: 140px;
  flex: 1;
}

.nav h1 {
  padding-left: 20px;
}

When I refresh the page Run briefly appears at the bottom only to disappear once the code is fully populated.

Thanks for any help

Ah, how can I quote the html without it actually formatting?

I have also lost my run function from 11/13 in learning HTML
since the intro from division tag

@objectninja37185

Please re-edit your Post

  • leave one blank-line above of your code
  • select your code in the Post
  • then =click= on the </>-symbol-of-this-editor

Your code will then be in a pre-code state
and you will be able to make/present the proper indentations.

Hey, thanks a lot for your post - but I am afraid I still couldnt solve the problem because for this course, I just dont have those editor options (which I do have eg in the CSS/HTML-course...)

@objectninja37185
First of all change your

into
<video width="320" height="100" controls>

In your CSS
change

html, body {
  font-family: sans-serif;
  margin: 0;
  width: 100%;
  height: 100%;
}

into

html, body {
  font-family: sans-serif;
  margin: 0;
  width: 100%;
  height: 80%;
}

Thanks for all the advice, it seems loading it up today Run had come back by itself. Apologies for wasting your time, weird though :S
