Should you use min-width, max-width, min-height, max-height, resolution or orientation in media queries?

As a follow-up to this question here, how does one know which media feature to use?

For instance, in this image here, Mobile, Tablet portrait, Tablet landscape and Laptop all had <= (less than equal to) against their values except Desktop which had > (greater than) against its value.

What does this imply? Does this mean that max-width, min-width, max-height or min-height should be used as media feature in the media query?

How best do you know which to use considering your intention and target device/screen?

Hello @noblekc. It depends on what you need to do. If you’re having it being viewed on small and large devices, then max-width, etc would be best. If you want to display a high definition image/video on devices that can allow it, then resolution might be better.
I hope this helps!
