Section 6:Formatting with String Methods error upcase the state

Here's the code that rejects:

print "what's your 2 digit state?"
state=gets.chomp
state="nc"
puts "Your state is #{state}".upcase

When I run the code: I get: Oops, try again. Make sure to call upcase! on state.
Can you give me a little hint on what I'm doing wrong, please.

It's telling you to call the method upcase! on the variable state, which you don't do in this code.

Also, what is this line supposed to do?

state="nc"
