I don’t know whats wrong with my syntax, every time i close, it reports to have left one of the codes opens for an if else statement.

```
Replace this line with your code.
var compare = function(choice1, choice2) {
if(choice1 === choice2) {
return “The result is a tie!”;
}
else if(choice1 === “rock”) {
if (choice2 === “scissors”) {
return “rock wins”;
}
else {
return “paper wins”;
}
else if (choice1 === “paper”) {
if(choice2 === “rock”) {
return “paper wins”
}
else {
return “scissors wins”
}
};
<do not remove the three backticks above>
you didn’t close the first else if.
also at the end you have to close the function too.
