"Return" won't return anything

#1

I seriously can't figure out what's wrong with my code... It seems fine, but when I call the function it'll just say "Computer: Rock(or whatever it chose)" It never says "Rock wins!" or a tie or anything...
PLEASE. What's wrong!?

Code Below.

var userChoice = prompt("Do you choose rock, paper or scissors?");
var computerChoice = Math.random();
if (computerChoice < 0.34) {
	computerChoice = "rock";
} else if(computerChoice <= 0.67) {
	computerChoice = "paper";
} else {
	computerChoice = "scissors";
} console.log("Computer: " + computerChoice);

var compare = function(choice1, choice2) {
    if(choice1 === choice2){
        return "The result is a tie!";
    }
    else if(choice1 === "rock") {
        if(choice2 === "scissors") {
            return "Rock wins!";
        }
        else {
            return "paper wins!";
        }
    }
    else if(choice1 === "paper") {
        if(choice2 ==="rock") {
            return "paper wins!";
        }
        else {
            return"scissors wins!";
        }
    }
    else if(choice1 === "scissors") {
        if(choice2 === "rock") {
            return"rock wins!";
        }
        else {
            return "scissors wins!";
        }
    }
};
compare(userChoice,computerChoice);

It suddely works... I only added "You chose" and some periods....
What in the...

var userChoice = prompt("Do you choose rock, paper or scissors?");
console.log("You chose " + userChoice + ".");
var computerChoice = Math.random();
if (computerChoice < 0.34) {
computerChoice = "rock";
} else if(computerChoice <= 0.67) {
computerChoice = "paper";
} else {
computerChoice = "scissors";
} console.log("Computer chose: " + computerChoice + ".");

var compare = function(choice1, choice2) {
if(choice1 === choice2){
return "The result is a tie!";
}
else if(choice1 === "rock") {
if(choice2 === "scissors") {
return "Rock wins!";
}
else {
return "Paper wins!";
}
}
else if(choice1 === "paper") {
if(choice2 ==="rock") {
return "Paper wins!";
}
else {
return "Scissors wins!";
}
}
else if(choice1 === "scissors") {
if(choice2 === "rock") {
return "Rock wins!";
}
else {
return "Scissors wins!";
}
}
};
compare(userChoice,computerChoice);

I figured it out... I was using "Rock", "Scissors", or "Paper" instead of "rock", "scissor", or "paper" as my choice. . .
