"Reset" after getting solution resets to solved

I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong in step 1 in a ruby on rails lesson, and I hit the solution button. Unfortunately, this reset my code to have the solution completed through the final step (rather than just step 1). I got bored of not learning, and besides had figured out what I was doing wrong, so I wanted to reset the lesson. Unfortunately, this reset it to its solved state rather than the base one. I tried deleting things, but then the steps it was walking me through weren’t restoring them.

Any help?

To any facing the same problem: A somewhat hacky/kludgy workaround is to append the --force flag to all rails generate calls in the terminal. This will cause these calls to replace the pre-done files with newly generated ones.
