remove_duplicates - program does not get error and can't get to next lesson

#1

I am doing the remove_duplicates exercise. My program works fine, but the system comes back with this message: Oops, try again. remove_duplicates([]) resulted in an error: list index out of range

#2

It tells you which input your function fails for, I suspect you haven't tested your code yourself with that input.

#3

There was no error message in the code - this happened to someone else if you look at a message from Oct 2015. Since my code works, I borrowed one of the simpler programs and have moved on now.

#4

It doesn't. That's what it's telling you, and it's telling you what you can do to see this for yourself, which is to use an empty list as the input value.

#5

OK - I understand that they tested the null list. Not extremely intuitive since most of their exercises tends to not cover all possibilities. I was able to modify my code to handle a null list and now got the green flag. thanks - I learned something.
