Reggie's Linear Progression - Technical Help Getting Started

I cannot get the first lines of code in this project to do anything. Something is not registering or started. I completed the Command Line course, installed Python - Anaconda, and installed Jupyter Notebooks. I enter code and nothing happens. Here is a screenshot of what I see in the Terminal:

I can’t tell if that will show, and there is no preview button so here is a link to that screenshot on PostImages.

Thank you for any help.

y = n * x + b

is that a typo?

I did not write that. I wrote “y = m*x + b”. In other words, I used “m” whereas you wrote “n”. What I wrote comes from the solution. Here is a screenshot of that:

If you mean to have a space between the “n” and the “" and the "” and the “x”, I thought that did not matter. But I tried it with spaces, and it still did not work.

Nah, it just looked like an ‘n’ to me. My bad. That’s the shits about images. Raw text we can at least read and manipulate. Bottom line, post selectable text in formatted code sample blocks for the greatest benefit to self and others.

So, does anyone know what the issue is and can provide me directions to resolve it?

It says to open this in a browser.

Did you try putting this address into the browser when the other stuff is running?
The notebook pages would usually be accessed using a browser.

Thank you for your response.

That page opens automatically in my Chrome after typing

jupyter notebook

So I can access the skeleton and the solution. But still nothing happens in the terminal when I take the first step.

After you open the browser, the relevant stuff shows up in the browser, not in the terminal.
(You may need to navigate to the appropriate file using the pages shown in the browser (in Chrome, in your case).

So, you’re saying I don’t use my Terminal on my Mac for the exercise? I use my browser? I thought one of the main aspects of the project is that I’m doing it on my Terminal.

you can use the terminal to start the stuff that will start Jupyter notebook if you want,
but the notebook pages will be available through a browser.
All the work and coding would be done in the pages you’d see in the browser.
(Using the terminal is not one of the main aspects of this project.)
