Re-creating Lodash Library on VSC

https://www.codecademy.com/paths/web-development/tracks/web-dev-js-arrays-loops-objects/modules/pjs-javascript-capstone/projects/lodash

I wanted to try this project out on Visual Studio Code instead of the CodeAcademy terminal to better familiarize myself with VSC. However, I am new to this and having some difficulty actually opening/running the terminal and whenever I type the “test” terminal code (ie. node test/lodash.js) I get an error in visual code.

‘node’ is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Can anyone give me a quick guide on how to set up this project on VSC, specifically the terminal aspect?

Hey there, welcome to the forums.

The clue is in the error.

You don’t have Node installed locally, so when you’re trying to run the JavaScript program you can’t.

You can download Node from their website, they have installers for the common platforms.

Thank you for this! I’m still playing around to get it working correctly but that was needed. I’ve heard of Node before and didnt put 2 and 2 together…
