Question on "How Do You Do-While"

What is the meaning of back-slash ( \ ) in the following code? There was no mention of it before. Can you please translate the following in words?

			echo "<div class=\"coin\">T</div>";

This is known as escapement. When the outer quotes match those being printed it creates a conflict and very possibly a reference error which will halt the program and raise a parse error.

When we want to indicate to the interpreter that the inner quotes are to be printed, we escape them. They are then treated as printable characters.

This is what is printed in the response document:

    <div class="coin">T</div>

Note: I call it a response document because PHP is Preprocessed HTML intended as a response to a web resource request. It is the generated document that goes downstream to the client.
