Pyglatin-Ending Up-10/11 (THIS IS DRIVING ME INSANE)

#1

I’ve been trying to figure out what the problem was for ages but still can’t seem to get my head around it :\ .I feel like the answer is obvious but I lack the brain power to find it. I’ve done exactly what the instructions have told me to do but still the syntax error lives on :((
Any help would be appreciated. :slight_smile:

Hi @brawrge,
look at line 10 of your code.

What are we slicing from? :thinking: Okay, you assigned (=) new_word to this slice [1:len(new_word)], but Python doesn’t know where or what we’re slicing from.

Did you see the examples they gave you:

my_string = "Python"
my_string[1:] # "ython"

Look at the 2nd example; we put what variable we’re slicing from next to the brackets ([]) so Python knows what to slice from.
