PygLatin 8. Word Up - Oops, try again, did you create a variable called word?

#1

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')

if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
    word = 'original.lower()' first = 'word'[0]
else:
    print 'empty'

What am I doing wrong? Thank you! :smiley:

#2

defining word and first on the same line is a bad idea. and you are ' a lot, i don't see why, original and word are variable, not strings, and lower() is a build in function, no need to use a apostrophe.

Thank you I cleaned up everything and it works! Thank you sir!
