Pyg Latin part 1.6 Pop Quiz-- Doesn't let me test code in console

#1

Any ideas why it's not asking for user's input in console? Doesn't say syntax error or anything, only the "Welcome to the Pyg Latin Translator" prints out and then . "None" on the next line, and let's me move on to the next excersise.

print 'Welcome to the Pig Latin Translator!'
def original():
    original = raw_input("Enter a word:")
    print original
    if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
        print original
    else:
        print "empty"

Here you have it defined, but are you calling the function so that it actually runs the code?

#3

#4

#5

#6

i thought the "print"s would run it?

#7

oooh, i call it by adding "original()" at the on the last line! It worked, but is it right??

#8

Ha, sorry you had to respond so many times.

Basically, if it works it is at least some version of correct. There may be more effective ways to make the same program, but you aren't going to be an expert based on the courses here.
