process.env.HOME returns UNDEFINED

Having what seems to be a simple issue on a Windows machine. Wrote the snippet my-app.js:

// console.log(process.env.PWD);
console.log(process.env.HOME);

When I run:
node my-app.js

I returns: UNDEFINED

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

@peterghostine I think you can refer to the documentation for more details here and here.

Basically the method you’re trying to run actually returns a set of HOME ENVIRONMENT object with reference to the properties you have set.

process.env.PWD = '12345'; process.env.HOME = '/home/'; console.log(process.env.PWD); console.log(process.env.HOME);

Hope this helps.
