Problems starting Jupyter notebook

Hi!

I’m currently learning Python and I’ve reached this excercise: https://www.codecademy.com/courses/learn-python-3/informationals/python3-customer-service-bot

I’ve installed anaconda and I can run Jupyter from the windows menu. When I try to start Jupyter from the command line, i get a message that it’s not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. What am I doing wrong? The excercise keeps referring to “terminal”. Is this not the command line?

have you done the navigation part:

In the terminal, navigate to the directory containing the project

the terminal is a GUI interface for the command line, yes.

No, in the part about Jupyter (https://www.codecademy.com/articles/how-to-use-jupyter-notebooks-py3) it says: “To launch a Jupyter notebook, open your terminal and navigate to the directory where you would like to save your notebook.” So it should really work from anywhere, like it does in the video…

Do you use the windows operating system? You would need to verify that the notebook is within your path. Or maybe the usage of powershell is required? You will need to check that out, many tutorials are often for unix based systems.
