I was on a monthly membership and cancelled it, hoping to then take out an annual membership using the 50% discount code currently available for Codecademy’s 10 year anniversary. On the membership page, I clicked on the annual membership option expecting to be taken to a checkout page where I could enter the code and confirm that I wanted to upgrade, but to my horror I was immediately taken a page telling me that my account had IMMEDIATELY been billed at full price.
This is real bad form, Codecademy.

Hey thanks @coffeencake and @lilybird , I have been in touch with customer support already and they were great, the billing issue was resolved quickly – but as this is a suggestion forum I still stand by my suggestion, to implement a checkout or confirmation page before processing membership upgrades
