Payment via PayPal isn't working

Hello Codecademy!

I would like to purchase the pro version for two month to study more for my exam. My problem is that everytime i try to pay with PayPal i get the following message:

"We were unable to create your subscription due to declined. Please try an alternative payment method."

I don't own a credit card—it's very important for me to learn Java for the exam because i failed two times. It's my last chance and i love the free stuff of thewebsite. So i hope that we find a quick solution as soon as possible.

Please be sure that once you've authorized the purchase through PayPal, that you navigate back to Codecademy to complete the purchase, otherwise the payment isn't processed. If that doesn't work, you may have to contact your bank to confirm the charge. Please see below...

A processor decline indicates that the your bank has refused the transaction request. Only your bank can confirm the specific reason. Here are a few of the most common ones:

  • Incorrect credit card number or expiration date
  • Insufficient funds
  • Some banks will reject charges based on location
  • Some banks will reject charges based on their own fraud rules

my problem exist or come before the authorization.

Here are some pics. At first i agree the payment via PayPal. I click on "Puchase Codecademy Pro". Than the grey button "Authorizing" pops out (which is not clickable) and 2-3 seconds later i get screen 3 with the same message "We were unable to create your subscription due to declined. Please try an alternative payment method"

What can i do (without credit card)?

Hi Thomas, were you able to check with your bank to determine if they're blocking the charge? Unfortunately, we typically can't help with declines, as ability to unblock the charge is owned by your bank/card company.

Hey Daniella,
i was talking about my issue but they said that they blocked nothing. I mailed PayPal and i'm still waiting for an answer. Looks like there is no chance for me to get the Pro version…
