Orion Constellation Project

First time posting a project. Really enjoying my experience on Code academy. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

imports

%matplotlib notebook
from matplotlib import pyplot as plt
from mpl_toolkits.mplot3d import Axes3D

Orion

x = [-0.41, 0.57, 0.07, 0.00, -0.29, -0.32,-0.50,-0.23, -0.23]
y = [4.12, 7.71, 2.36, 9.10, 13.35, 8.13, 7.19, 13.25,13.43]
z = [2.06, 0.84, 1.56, 2.07, 2.36, 1.72, 0.66, 1.25,1.38]

2d figure

fig = plt.figure()
plt.subplot(1, 1, 1)
plt.scatter(x, y, color=‘red’)
plt.title(‘2D Constellation Orion’)
plt.xlabel(‘X-Coordinates’)
plt.ylabel(‘Y-Coordinates’)
plt.axis([-0.6, 0.60, 2.0, 14.0])
plt.show()

3d figure

fig_3d = plt.figure()
constellation3d = fig_3d.add_subplot(111, projection=‘3d’)
constellation3d.scatter(x, y, z, color=‘purple’)
constellation3d.set_xlabel(‘X-Coords’)
constellation3d.set_ylabel(‘Y-Coords’)
constellation3d.set_zlabel(‘Z-Coords’)
plt.title(‘3D Constellation Orion’)
plt.show()

Hi there,
I try to run your code on Jupyter notebook, but it bumps into a lots of error.
So, may I ask which coding program are you using?

I’m using Jupyter Notebook as well. What errors are you getting?

Some syntax error, like these:

Oh I see. This may sound weird but try re-typing the quotation marks around ‘red’ and ‘3d’. It’s happened to me where I’ve copy and pasted something and the quotations don’t work as intended. If that works, then it will need to be re-done for the rest as well.
