Orion Constellation Off Platform Project (Jupyter Notebook)

I am currently trying to answer this question:
https://www.codecademy.com/paths/analyze-data-with-python/tracks/ida-5-data-visualization-matplotlib/modules/ida-5-1-introduction-to-matplotlib/informationals/ida-constellations

However the first step is to use:
%matplotlib notebook
from matplotlib import pyplot as plt
from mpl_toolkits.mplot3d import Axes3D

When I execute this cell I get an error:
ModuleNotFoundError Traceback (most recent call last)
in
----> 1 get_ipython().run_line_magic(‘matplotlib’, ‘notebook’)

This is followed by a long list of back end code being shown, then the line:
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named ‘matplotlib’

Can anyone help me fix this? I installed miniconda and the jupyter-notebook.exe file is in my miniconda folder; also the orion constellation notebook is in my miniconda folder so I’m unsure why matplotlib can’t be found?

Thank you very much for the help!

Miniconda is, by definition, a minimal installation. It only installs Python, the conda package manager, some utilities like pip, and any dependencies for those programs.

Any other packages which you want to use, like matplotlib, must be manually installed before you can use them.

The Miniconda documentation explains this. :slight_smile:
