Opacity error

I have this issue as well.

<script type='text/javascript' src='script.js'></script>
		<title>Button Magic</title>
        <link rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' href='stylesheet.css'/>
     <div><br/><strong>Click Me!</strong></div>

div {
    height: 60px;
    width: 100px;
    border-radius: 5px;
    background-color: #69D2E7;
    text-align: center;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif;
    opacity: 0.5;

Javascript (script.js):

$(document).ready(function() {
    $('div').mouseenter(function() {
        $('div').fadeTo('fast', 1.00);

I've tried refreshing my browser.
I'm running Google Chrome, version 56.0.2924.87 (up to date as of writing this post).
I tried the code in Firefox as well and it still didn't work.
Also, the when I enter the opacity as 1 instead of 1.00 the code still doesn't work.
Also, writing the second " 'div' " as " this " still doesn't work.

It looks like you didn’t set your div’s opacity to one

<script type='text/javascript' src='script.js'></script>

<script> tag should be inside <head> or <body> tag
