Need help with deploy a website on 4/7 adding a remote

#1

Im not able to add a remote to github and I dont know what im doing wrong

#2

You just have to pass

through the command line, filling in the data that's needed (ie the parts that say your-user-name).

#3

ive tried that sooooo many time its not working for my and I dont why

#4

Does it give an error message?

#5

Yeah, I am struggling with it too.

I also wrote the exact data in the command line, with my username/user-name .

$ git remote add origin https://github.com/NilsWanicki/nils-wanicki.github.io.git
$ git remote -v
origin https://github.com/NilsWanicki/nils-wanicki.github.io.git (fetch)
origin https://github.com/NilsWanicki/nils-wanicki.github.io.git (push)
$ git remote rm origin
$ git remote add origin https://github.com/NilsWanicki/nils-wanicki.github.io.git
$

EDIT: It worked with the help of these 2 posts:
1. https://discuss.codecademy.com/t/deploy-a-website-4-7-pls-help-asap/62087

Hey you all... I had the same problem...

And this is what worked for me...

In your terminal window, you will need to create your directory again...
$ jekyll new presonal-website
$ls
$cd personal-website

After you move to your personal-website retype what is required in step 4 of 7
$ git remote add origin https://github.com/username/username.github.io.git

username will be your github.com username.

As I said I had the same problem and this is how it worked out for me.

Hope I helped.

Cheers from Bosnia and Herzegovina
