My Python Tic Tac Toe

My first project on python. Took me a really long time to understand the win logic and changing of the users part. Internet is a great tool for help. I was just wondering if I could make this code any cleaner or simpler open to new ideas on approaching this. Thanks :slight_smile:

Advices about usability:

  1. Show the user (X or O) in each position request like "Current player is: ".
  2. Print the board when winning so the user can see the winning combination.

About code. You can use flat array for field and use slices (Built-in Functions ā€” Python 3.10.2 documentation) with map (Built-in Functions ā€” Python 3.10.2 documentation and 5. Data Structures ā€” Python 3.10.2 documentation) and all (Built-in Functions ā€” Python 3.10.2 documentation) to check winning combination. For example, to check one of diagonal you can use code such as all([f == user for f in board[::4]]).
This is only another solution, Iā€™m not sure that it cleaner or better.
