My Personal Portfolio Project (Vite & React)

My personal portfolio is officially live! Deployed with Netlify and using Netlify Forms for my contact form submission.

Hope you enjoy!

  • My review of the Project. Was it easy, difficult, just right?
I am about 70% through the Front End course with Complex data structures and Interview Prep up next so I decided to take a detour and work on this project! Compared to when I first started 8 months ago I am completely surprised with the level of intuitive knowledge I have gained through studying with Codecademy. I have grown to thoroughly enjoy the problem solving process!

  • An estimate of how long it took you to complete
This portfolio took me about 5 days with a lot of the time taken up on configuring Netlify Forms to make sure submissions worked (about a full day of troubleshooting scouring videos, tutorials, and forums, which afterwards, the next morning, resulted in about a 5 minute realization that I was dealing with syntax errors lol). On the bright side I began using libraries to aid in my development process with react-spring/parallax being the most notable for speeding up how I build my page.

Any feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated, also feel free to reach out I’m always looking for coding partners!

Hi, Ocean!

This portfolio looks great! The only thing I really noticed is that the font-sizes and form input areas could be a weeee bit larger. And I do like the animation behind the form, but it did start giving me a headache after looking at it for too long.

I am glad you are seeing your own progress. I like to look at my older projects just to see how my skills and knowledge have developed.

Great job! Keep up the great work!

Happy coding!~

Thank you for the feedback!

I definitely agree with the animation behind the form, I was on the fence about leaving it in. I’ve also found that at times it can be laggy but I’m not sure if that’s just my computer, I hope so  I’m planning on adding some sort of night-mode feature so that the website is a bit easier on readability and the eyes overall.

Appreciate the response, happy coding!!
