Move it on back

#1

The exercise tells me this is correct, but the returned value remains the same (besides lowering any capitals). The first letter was supposed to move to the back of the word and then add 'ay'.

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')

if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
    word = original.lower()
    print word
    first = word[0]
    new_word = word + first + pyg
else:
    print 'empty'

#2

the goal of that exercise is to only get the word returned ,which we typed!

new_word = word + first + pyg

these thing will be tested in next exercises !

#3

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')

if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
print original
word = original.lower()
first = word[0]
new_word = word + first + pyg
new_word [1:len(new_word)] + first + pyg
else:
print 'empty'

what is wrong?
